I am going to give the Goofy Challenge another try in January 2010. It will be a half marathon on 1/9/10 (William's birthday!) and a marathon on 1/10/2010, for a total of 39.3 miles in just over 24 hours. It has been almost four years since I ran the last one in 2006 (James and William have grown a bit since the photo from 2006 at the top of the page) and I haven't done any major races since then with the exception of a couple of half marathons. I was trying to decide a few months ago if I had the stamina and came across a team that was running to raise money for the Avon Breast Cancer fund on a Disney Fan site I like, www.AllEars.net. It seemed like a great way to keep motivated so off I go.
I am going to try and keep this site updated with my training progress starting this week. I am already a couple of weeks in to an eighteen week program.
